About Christine Ruehling, LADC

I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a Private Practice in Eagan, Minnesota. I offer Substance Abuse and Recovery Counseling with a special emphasis on Recovery Maintenance, Coping Skills, and Mindfulness.

I am an interactive, client centered, and solution-focused counselor. My counseling approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address their chemical health issues. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.

With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to reach their full potential and to develop an individualized program of recovery that will allow them to achieve their long term goals.

I attended school at the University of Minnesota and graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminology and Sociology.

Previous Social Service Experience

I dedicated over 20 years working for a variety of Social Service Agencies.

Starting out as a Direct Care Staff, I worked my way up to the Regional Director, at a local Social Service Agency, responsible for the oversight of three Twin Cities Offices.

I worked with Adolescents challenged with Emotional, Behavioral, Cognitive and Mental Health Disorders, at an Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital, and later at a Children’s Home.

I worked with Adults diagnosed with Cognitive, Behavioral, Physical, and Mental Health Disorders and Traumatic Brain Injuries, in Group Home settings, Long-Term Care Facilities, and Community Based Supported Employment Settings.

And then... I went into Recovery myself...

I returned to school at Metropolitan State University to study Alcohol and Drug Counseling and to obtain my License.

Alcohol and Drug Counseling Experience

I worked with a Culturally Diverse Population of men and women assisting them to address their Chemical Use issues. Many of the clients had Mental Health Diagnoses, were involved with the Criminal Justice System either on Probation or on Parole – some just Released from Prison, some had Open Cases with Child Protection, and some were actively attempting to Break Free from Sex Trafficking or from Gang Involvement.

PRIDE Institute
I provided Residential and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Services to individuals from within the LGBTQ community that wanted to address their Addiction and Mental Health issues in a safe and confidential environment.

River Ridge Treatment Center
I worked with in both the Intensive Outpatient Program and the Residential Program address their Mental Health Diagnoses, Recover from their Addictions and start to heal from their Trauma.

Dakota County Jail
I met with the Inmates, upon their request, to complete Chemical Health Assessments. I provided Professional Recommendations based on the Outcome of the Assessment, made Treatment Referrals and Obtained Financial Authorization for Services and worked with County, Legal and Treatment Professionals as Authorized to do so by the Individual.

And now...

I am in Private Practice. Taking all of my education, training, work and personal experience and dedicating my time, and my passion to something I love. Working to Help Others to Recover from their Addictions and to Live the Lives they Deserve to Have!! I love the work I do, and I hope I have the pleasure to work with you!

Thank You!
